Classes

Class Levels

We have a variety of classes to suit all levels. Beginners classes (60mins) are obviously for those who are new to yoga or new to Iyengar Yoga. General classes (90 mins) are open to beginners as well as experienced students. Intermediate classes (120 mins) are open to experienced students (at least one year of Iyengar Yoga and be able to perform shoulderstand and headstand, using a wall if necessary). Private one-to-one classes are also available.

Classes must be booked in advance by block (6 or 7 weeks) and work out at £11 per class (£9 for the beginners class). If there are spaces free then these can be booked individually for £14 per class (£12 for the beginners class). Please contact us to book a block of studio classes, private classes or if you have any queries.

General Information

Iyengar Yoga classes are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness – you do not have to be flexible to practise yoga. You must however inform us of any injuries or medical conditions prior to starting a class. Please do not have a large meal before a class nor drink immediately before or during a class.

A class will involve a variety of different postures – standing, sitting, inverted and relaxing. Iyengar Yoga is a strong exercise but emphasis is placed on precision and safety.

Simple props are used such as blocks and belts to help students achieve certain postures. The class is performed with bare feet and clothing that does not impede movement is recommended. The Charlbury Yoga Studio is fully equipped so you do not need to bring a mat or any props with you. Changing facilities are limited so it is best to come dressed prepared for the class.
